Lovely Malabrigo

My Citron shawl is moving along... very slowly. Each row now has hundreds of stitches and takes about half an hour to knit. The second ball of yarn is getting a lot smaller though and I don't think I'll use more than half of the third ball, so I have less than one ball left to knit :)

Stone Blue Citron

The color is amazing; it's a lovely blue and even though it's hard to tell in the pictures, there are subtle blue/lilac stripes that really make the fabric interesting!

I also started my first of the many Malabrigo hats that I want to knit.  The yarn is absolutely yummy and it feels even softer in the knit fabric. It's thick and fluffy and just wonderful really. I'm sure I'll love wearing this hat when it's finished!

There's only one problem: I've been knitting with thin yarns for so long, that the Malabrigo Worsted feels like super bulky yarn! My fingers need some time to get used to the new weight I guess. The picture shows the Worsted and the Malabrigo lace from my Citron :)

Worsted and Lace

  3. I know the feeling of getting used to thicker yarn, but I personally love it! Which hat are you making?

  4. I'm a sucker for blue! I love the Citron, but admire your patience with it. If I'm remembering right, you've made a few and you make them bigger than the design.

And that thicker Malabrigo, I just want to reach out and touch it!

  6. I still have not knit a Citron. Every time I see one I start thinking about starting one. Yours is looking wonderful!

  7. Beautiful, both! I love the blues. I know what you mean about going from lace to something heavier- I have been using lace and fingering weight for everything lately, and just cast on a blanket in super bulky. It feels like ROPE!

  8. I love the color of your citron shawl -- so beautiful. That is one pattern I'd like to knit some day. I just started "Sweet Jazz" which is easy at the beginning but we'll see how I feel when I get to the end.
