And now for something completely different - Knitting and Crochet Blog Week Day 5

"This is an experimental blogging day to try and push your creativity in blogging to the same level that you perhaps push your creativity in the items you create. There are no rules of a topic to blog about but this post should look at a different way to present content on your blog."

"Why I knit"

Why do I knit? To make clothes that fit!
There's nothing better than a hand knit sweater.
That's what knitting's about
although it doesn't always work out.

Along the way
you might hear yourself say:
"The sweater's too wide"
or "There's a hole at the side!"

Remember that sometimes the road to success
can seem like disaster, a big woolly mess
That's what knitting's about
even when you rip out.

Don't give up! When your project's complete
your new cabled socks will warm more than your feet.

Your fair isle hat will make you so proud
and when you cast off you will shout out loud
"I made this beautiful thing!"
and when you wear it you'll feel like a king.

Now that it's finished, knitter beware
and handle your new, hand knit object with care.
If you wash your wool too hot, it will felt.
If you iron acrylic, it surely will melt.
But if you love it and show it you care
this could be something your grandkids will wear!

To see all the posts from today's topic, you can Google the code 2KCBWDAY5. There are so many talented people taking part in this event, I can't wait to read everyone's posts!

  1. Heheheeeee, awesome!

p.s. I do iron my acrylic precisely so it would melt - the only way to make those stitches look a bit nicer ;)
