Weekend reading

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and wishes on my last post! And our kitty thanks you too! Taking care of her this week has been exhausting and your kind words really made me feel better.

We had some more tests done yesterday and our little girl is a lot better. We still need to continue the treatment for a few more days, but we are confident that she will recover.

I didn't knit at all this week; usually when I'm knitting, I start thinking and with everything that was going on here, it was best not to think too much. Instead, I tried to distract myself and the internet provided the perfect solution. There was a big giveaway organized by Sew,Mama,Sew and hundreds of blogs participated in the event.

I entered many giveaways - I didn't win anything (yet) but with so many people competing for the prizes, I'm not surprised. However, I discovered many lovely blogs and I thought you might enjoy a few of them too. They're mostly about sewing and quilting, but the photos are lovely and very inspiring.

Pins and Bobbins has some beautiful projects and lots of pictures of gorgeous fabrics.

Diary of a Quilter - wow! I would love to be able to make some of those quilts.

Girl for All Seasons makes very cute things.

Needles, Pins and Baking Tins - I love her projects.

Quilting and sewing are the next things I would love to learn, when I make a bit more progress with spinning. I'm really looking forward to reading these blogs and I'm already thinking about some things I would love to make!

Have you discovered any interesting blogs lately? Not only about knitting, but anything you might have enjoyed reading. I'd love to hear your recommendations!

Diary of a Quilter - μακάρι να μπορούσα να φτιάξω τέτοια πράγματα!

H Girl for All Seasons

Needles, Pins and Baking Tins - λατρεύω τα πράγματα που φτιάχνει.

  1. Oh Needles, Pin and Baking Tins made it into my blog reader too. But I don't even remember visiting those other ones. There were so many.

It would be ace if we had a knitting equivalent of the SMS giveaway. But I'm not really volunteering to organise it all!

I haven't done a lot of knitting this week either. But I'm still pushing on with my Que Sera. The body is 13" long now. One more inch and I'm ready for... more knitting!! And then sleeves.

  4. Good to read your kitty is better!
I usually knit complicated patterns if I need to distract myself and stop my thoughts from wandering around.
I dream of quilting, too! There is a quite good tutorial for a nice beginner’s quilt over there: http://ihavetosay.typepad.com/randi/quilt-a-long/
and I recently found a new to me blog that I like, http://inthesky1.blogspot.com - Lucy from England crochets, spins, has a veggie garden and some yummy recipes on her blog. And I just came across http://seeminglygreek.blogspot.com/ written by a Texan lady living in Greece.
