There's always something new to learn

I had a new experience with knitting yesterday. I broke a needle. I guess that wood is fairly easy to break, but I still can't believe it happened. One wrong move, my knee and one second was all it took. They were new, my shawl is the only thing I knit with them. The shawl has now been moved to another needle. I'm still mad at myself.

I should have been more careful

Maria asked about the knitting belt. My friend told me that her belt is from Scotland where it was used to hold one of the needles, making it possible for someone to knit while walking. It has many holes so that the needle can be placed in the best or most comfortable position. My friend finds it easier to knit with dpns with the belt.

new shawl

I took a picture of the shawl I'm designing. I don't want to post a picture that shows more details until it's finished. I guess I'm worried that something won't work out. So far though, it's fine and getting bigger so I hope to have pictures of the finished shawl in a few days!
