I haven't exactly been on vacation. I didn't plan to stay away from the blog for so long, it just happened. I certainly missed blogging! What have I been doing?
I had a wisdom tooth removed. It hurt for a month afterwards - I'm sooo happy that it's not hurting any more.
Γύρισα! Δεν πήγα διακοπές ακριβώς και σίγουρα δεν είχα σκοπό να μείνω μακριά τόσο καιρό. Μου έλειψε πολύ το blog! Τι έκανα όσο έλειπα;
Έβγαλα ένα φρονιμήτη. Πονούσα μετά για ένα μήνα. Χαίρομαι πάρα πολύ που επιτέλους είναι καλά και δεν πονάει.

with Mount Olympus in the background. I love this picture, it's a huge mountain but it seems almost like it isn't really there.

A cat helped me wind a skein of sock yarn (Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport - color is Cookie's Deep Secret, in case you're wondering).

Monkey sock knit with Yarn Love Elizabeth Bennett in Cottage Garden. This yarn is so soft and pretty, it deserves to be used in a project that I love. I just couldn't get gauge with the Monkey pattern.
Κάλτσα Monkey πλεγμένη με Yarn Love Elizabeth Bennett στο χρώμα Cottage Garden. Το νήμα είναι τόσο απαλό και όμορφο, του αξίζει να χρησιμοποιηθεί σε ένα πλεκτό που θα λατρεύω. Απλά δεν μπορούσα να πετύχω το σωστό μέγεθος με αυτό το σχέδιο.
The second sock was too small...
Staccato Socks from the book Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. The yarn is Flamboyance Yarns Pharos in Merlin. I really didn't want to rip this out, the pattern really brings out all the beautiful colors in this yarn. Unfortunately, the pattern isn't stretchy and I don't think I could get this sock on my foot. Which is a big problem because I would want to actually wear these socks.
Η δεύτερη κάλτσα ήταν πολύ μικρή. Το σχέδιο λέγεται Staccato Socks και είναι από το βιβλίο Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. Το νήμα είναι Flamboyance Yarns Pharos και το χρώμα λέγεται Merlin. Πραγματικά δεν ήθελα να βγάλω αυτή την κάλτσα από τις βελόνες, το σχέδιο αναδεικνύει όλα τα όμορφα χρώματα στο νήμα. Δυστυχώς, το σχέδιο δεν έχει καθόλου ελαστικότητα και δεν νομίζω ότι θα μπορούσα να βάλω αυτή την κάλτσα στο πόδι μου. Το οποίο είναι μεγάλο πρόβλημα γιατί θα ήθελα να τη φορέσω αν έχω κάνει τόσο κόπο να την πλέξω.

I went to a wedding. It was wonderful to see my friend get married, she looked absolutely beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Also, they had fireworks!
Πήγα σε ένα γάμο. Ήταν τέλειο που είδα τη φίλη μου νύφη, ήταν πανέμορφη και περάσαμε πολύ ωραία. Επίσης, είχαν πυροτεχνήματα!

We saw the moon over Mount Olympus at noon. Είδαμε το φεγγάρι πάνω από τον Όλυμπο το μεσημέρι.
While I was travelling, I worked on a lace scarf, the Peacock Tail and Leaf Scarf by Nancy Bush from Knitted Lace of Estonia. I've been knitting this scarf for a month now and it's finally almost finished. I've started grafting the edging to the main part of the scarf. It's taking a long time though - I'll certainly never complain about grafting an 8-stitch sock toe again!
The yarn is Wollmeise and it glows. Color is Grasshupfer WD and it's a very bright and very beautiful green. Non-knitters keep commenting on the color. I explain Wollmeise to them. I think they don't quite understand why I would sit in front of my computer for an hour waiting for a yarn update, but I guess it makes more sense to them than if they hadn't seen the yarn.
I've knit this scarf on trains and busses and in coffee shops. These are the first pictures, I took them today at home. Bad blogger!

Όσο ταξίδευα, έπλεκα ένα κασκόλ με δαντέλα. Το σχέδιο λέγεται Peacock Tail and Leaf Scarf και είναι της Nancy Bush και είναι από το βιβλίο Knitted Lace of Estonia (Πλεκτή Δαντέλα της Εστονίας). Το πλέκω ένα μήνα τώρα και επιτέλους σχεδόν το έχω τελειώσει. Ξεκίνησα την ένωση στα δύο κομμάτια, το κεντρικό και το σχέδιο στην άκρη και παίρνει πολύ ώρα. Σίγουρα δεν θα παραπονεθώ ξανά όταν κλείνω τις κάλτσες στα δάχτυλα - εκεί είναι μόνο οχτώ πόντοι!
Το νήμα είναι Wollmeise και λάμπει. Το χρώμα λέγεται Grasshupfer WD και είναι ένα έντονο και πανέμορφο πράσινο. Μου έχουν πει πολλοί, που δεν πλέκουν, τι ωραίο χρώμα είναι. Τους εξηγώ τί είναι το Wollmeise. Νομίζω ότι δεν καταλαβαίνουν γιατί κάθομαι μια ώρα μπροστά στον υπολογιστή, περιμένοντας μήπως και καταφέρω να αγοράσω λίγο από αυτό το νήμα, αλλά μάλλον όταν έχουν δει το νήμα έχουν λίγο περισσότερη κατανόηση.
Έχω πλέξει αυτό το κασκόλ σε τρένα και λεωφορεία και καφετέριες. Αυτές είναι οι πρώτες φωτογραφίες, τις έβγαλα σήμερα στο σπίτι μου. Απαράδεκτη blogger!
