Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely time :)

We had a little change of plans this year, I suddenly got quite sick yesterday, probably a virus and I have been miserable. I'm really disappointed because I had promised my mother that I would do all the cooking this year and she ended up doing all of it after all. She is wonderful and I can't thank her enough for making this day a wonderful Christmas after all :)

I always bake something at Christmas, a cake or a pie, it's become a tradition. I really didn't feel like making anything, so I'm glad I bought these:



We've been busy these days and at least I managed to do a few things yesterday morning.

We also started cooking a few things yesterday :) With hindsight, that was an excellent idea!





I got some last minute presents for my parents (although I didn't see my father today as planned) and something for my mother. Her real present is a pair of socks (and more pairs as I knit them!) but I haven't grafted the toes and I don't trust myself to do it with a high fever. It could be a disaster!

I can't wait to knit with these, they look amazing! And I'll definitely be ordering more yarn from Laughing Yaffle soon. She has some lovely colors.

New socks: knit with Regia Kaffe Fassett Design Line in Exotic Easter. I'm knitting these two at a time and I think this is the cure for my second sock syndrome. Also, it's a lot easier to match up the stripes.



We've been listening to Christmas songs...

My mother made an amazing turkey...

And we watched our favorite movie for this time of year...It's a tradition, we've been watching it every Christmas since I was little. We know every single line. And we laugh every time.

A wonderful day

Hi everyone! Are you busy knitting the last gifts for the holidays? I've been very busy although not with knitting. OK, I knit a little but not as much as I wanted! Classes, projects and studying... I'm exhausted!

Today I had my last class before the holidays and I'm officially on vacation :)

I also got a lovely surprise in the mail today, I got some yarn I ordered last week but I didn't think it would get here before Christmas. The post office gets slow this time of year, but my I got my yarn! I'm absolutely thrilled with it, it's beautiful! I'll take some pictures tomorrow, it's dark now.

I'm really looking forward to decorating, cooking, baking, knitting and yes, studying too! Everything sounds good to me right now.

Tonight, I won't set my alarm clock :) I'm very happy!

Καλησπέρα! Τι κάνετε; Πλέκετε τα τελευταία δώρα για τους αγαπημένους σας; Εγώ ήμουν πολύ απασχολημένη, δυστυχώς όχι με το πλέξιμο όμως. Εντάξει, έπλεξα λίγο αλλά όχι όσο θα ήθελα. Μαθήματα, διάβασμα, εργασίες... Είμαι πολύ κουρασμένη.

Σήμερα όμως ήταν η τελευταία μέρα μαθημάτων. Επίσημα πλέον κάνω διακοπές!

Είχα και μια πολύ ευχάριστη έκπληξη σήμερα. Είχα παραγγείλει νήματα την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα και δεν περίμενα να έρθουν πριν τα Χριστούγεννα. Το ταχυδρομείο αργεί λίγο όσο πλησιάζουν οι γιορτές. Ήρθαν όμως και είναι υπέροχα, έχω ενθουσιαστεί! Θα σας δείξω φωτογραφίες αύριο.

Ανυπομονώ να στολίσω το σπίτι, να μαγειρέψω, να φτιάξω γλυκά, ακόμα και να διαβάσω! Όλα μου φαίνονται ωραία τώρα!

Δεν θα βάλω ξυπνητήρι απόψε :) Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενη!

Cold weather, fast knitting

I went to my lys yesterday. It's gotten very cold all of a sudden and I wanted some yarn for a quick project. Apparently, a lot of knitters had the same idea I did. The store was very, very crowded :)

I got some Katia Azteca in a gorgeous colorway. I cast on yesterday evening. Today I had this:

This is going very fast! I've knit another 10 or 15 rows since I took that picture this afternoon! I'll have my cardigan in no time :)


Πήγα χθες να αγοράσω νήματα. Κάνει ξαφνικά πάρα πολύ κρύο και ήθελα να πάρω νήμα να πλέξω κάτι στα γρήγορα. Προφανώς όμως είχαν την ίδια ιδέα πολλές άλλες πλέκτριες. Είχε πάρα πολύ κόσμο μέσα στο μαγαζί :)

Πήρα νήμα Katia Azteca σε ένα υπέροχο χρώμα. Ξεκίνησα το πλεκτό χθες το απόγευμα. Σήμερα είχα αυτό που βλέπετε. Προχωράει πολύ γρήγορα. Και έχω πλέξει και άλλες 10-15 σειρές από την ώρα που έβγαλα τις φωτογραφίες. Αυτό το πλεκτό θα γίνει ζακετάκι πολύ γρήγορα!

Είναι η εποχή...

να πλέξω χριστουγεννιάτικες κάλτσες για τη μητέρα μου

να αγοράσω υπέροχα νήματα και να ονειρεύομαι πλεκτά που μπορώ να τυλίξω γύρω από τους ώμους μου

να αγχώνομαι λίγο για την εξεταστική τον Ιανουάριο

να κάνω τις εργασίες μου όσο πιο γρήγορα μπορώ, για να έχω χρόνο για πλέξιμο τις γιορτές

Τι θα φτιάξω; Ένα ζακετάκι Tulips :) Ανυπομονώ τόσο πολύ να το ξεκινήσω, τα χρώματα είναι υπέροχα! Και επίσης, δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ να φοράω αυτή τη ζακέτα και να μην είμαι απίστευτα χαρούμενη!
